Many of the families have continued their existence till modern times.Many of them have played crucial roles in areas of social culture and governmental aspects with some being involved in local administration of their former kingdoms.
Their contributions continue to the present time with them playing roles in maintaining a balance in their local societies.

There are various families existing in West Timor who descend from past families and some of them maintain a continued lineage.
Some have merged with other families and continued alongside them.
Most of these families have a heritage of hundreds of years and have played significant roles in their own geographic domains.
In this modern times, some may have gone into abeyance in some manner, while some play significant roles in their own.
The royal dynasties of West Timor have strong cultural and social roles that can contribute to society at large. They are the vital link between the past and the present while playing a crucial link with past heritage and glory.
